Post Giving thanks Reply with quote
Greetings brothers!

We give thanks when we sit down to eat but how many of us give thanks before we start playing our guitars?  The Bible tells us in 1Th 5:18,  "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."  let us give God thanks for the ability that He has given us and that the sounds we make are a joyful noise unto His ears.

That is a very good Idea.  That will also bring the anoiting upon us. the music always seems to set the tempo of the service since we are usally the first part of the service. So we need to be dialed into or tuned (no pun intended) into God's Sprit for that service. We are the front line. not just alone but the whole praise team. It is up to us to bring the minds of the people together for worship. I like the Idea of Giving Thanks. We as a praise team always come together right before we play to go over what we practiced that morning or if there are any changes in the line up of songs and to bring our minds together on the service and God. This is seperate form the prayer room time we spend before service. ..... sorry that kinda got long.

I know our pastor (and keyboard player) encourages the musicians and praise singers to arrive to church early to pray before service. That way when we step up on the platform to play our minds are already focused on God. I have not done this before and I can tell a big difference between the services I have gotten to church and set aside time to pray and services where I have not.
