How many of you teach?

I was just wondering how many of us teach?  I would be interested in maybe swapping teaching lessons and resources.  If you are also interested, let me know.
ron wilson

praise the Lord bro  i teach and that's pretty much what i do for a living. by the way the videos are now finished and they are decent i could shoot one out to you if you like.
oneGodGuitarist

Excellent!

Hey Bro', I would be glad if you shoot one of those videos my way.

fingerpickin'
ron wilson

not a problem!  could you Email me your mailing address again? my email address is hggp777@aol.com
ron wilson

hey Bro Schell, have you seen the videos yet?
oneGodGuitarist

I started trying to watch one of them the other day but it kept freezing on my computer.  I need to try it on a regular DVD player.  The little bit that I have seen so far was just you doing an incredible job playing.  Is there teaching on these or just you playing?  Shocked  Smile
ron wilson

the teaching is after the song being played.  i can't remember,  did i send you the pdf or the hard copy of the sheet music?  anyway, for it to work best, it's good to have the tab in front of you while watching the DVD.  i have to say, that i'm not too happy with my playing on these DVD's.
oneGodGuitarist

Hey now, we are always our worst critic.  I have been in one of those slumps lately.
ron wilson

thanks bro. sometimes it just ain't easy.  I have a favor to ask, could you go to my website and download the free blues lesson and give me your honest opinion?(did i explain it right or is it too complicated or not complicated enough etc...)  ronwilsonguitaracademy.com   thanx bro.
oneGodGuitarist

Hey Bro',

I went through all the steps to get the arrangement and the audio file but was only able to download the audio file.  The audio file was only 1KB and didn't play.  You might want to check everything on your end too.

~David
ron wilson

thank you for trying, i'll check everything on my end.
ron wilson

Bro Schell, i am going to send you the free downloads on discs when they are not working so you can tell me what you think.  And also I was wondering, wink could you slow the lick down that you did on your free lesson # 4 on your website, so i can correctly transcribe it in tab and notation.  thanx and God Bless Y'all
oneGodGuitarist

You are putting some of Wink's stuff in TAB?!?  Oh, sweet!  Now, we just need ya to do that to his song "Shine".   Laughing
ron wilson

which cd is that from?
oneGodGuitarist

I believe it was on his last CD.
ron wilson

i found it and started transcribing it today.  i started with the solo, and i'm about half way there. i think that sometimes it's better to tackle the hard parts first.  i'm tabbing it by hand first, then i'll put it in notation.
oneGodGuitarist

Sweet!  I can't wait to see this one.  Since that one seems like it is easy for ya, I have something else that you might be able to help me out with if you have the time.  I have found several videos on YouTube of Israel Houghton sitting in a recording studio with just his guitar.  I have lead sheets to the songs he is playing but I can't figure out what chords he is playing for some reason.  I will have to look up the URL of those videos and post it.

Also, did you ever get your website's stuff to work?  Let me know what the problem is and maybe I can help.
ron wilson

i wish his stuff was easy!  but  i have about 20 more seconds of his solo to go still, then  i have to put it in notation and tab, and i would love to do some israel.  i have a friend of mine working on the web site but i think he got busy with a bunch of othe stuff,  so i think it may be a little while.  i don't know very much about computer stuff,  this is e mail business is pretty complex for me.
ron wilson

Bro Schell,  i have finished transcribing Bro Carters Shine,  now all ineed is permission to send it out to you.  i would say it's 95% accurate.  Bro Carter plays soooo fast it was hard to get alot of it.  I was transcribing Clint Brown's " I put My trust in You" today for our praise team.  what a great song that is. oh yeah and my website is under construction again,  as a friend of mine is trying to fix the down load portion but  i'll send you the free downloads this week and you can let me know what you think, even if it hurts! prayer
oneGodGuitarist

Bro',

That is awesome.  I can't wait to review it.  What was the main problem with the website?  Maybe I could help (no promises) 'cause I am a software engineer by trade.
ron wilson

I'm waiting bro Larry's approval to send  you the transcription.  i don't know what's wrong with the web site, i don't  handle any of it, because i know less than nothing when it comes to that.  the only thing i know how to operate is music writing software.  thanx for the offer to help it's much appreciated. God Bless You Bro Schell

CDs

Ron,
I got the CDs for the free blues lesson that everyone will eventually be able to download from your site (if they can't already).  Those were a lot of fun a a good teaser of what you have to offer.  I can't wait to see what you have for funk.

What are you using for the backing tracks?

God bless,
~David
ron wilson

cool, thanx.   for back up i'm using a boss jam station js-5.  E-mail me at  hggp777@aol.com    and i'll send you shine on pdf
ron wilson

the new funk lesson should be on my website soon.  by the way, bro Schell how are you doing on shine?
oneGodGuitarist

Slow but sure.  You finger pickers have a finger up on me.  I tend to have a very interesting style of playing and it keeps changing as the years go by and I finally learn newer and better ways to do things.  But, having your own style is a good thing and since God gave us each a certain measure of talent, I just want to make sure that I am using all of mine for His glorification and not burying it within me where it will never grow.  I can't wait to take a look that the funk lesson.
ron wilson

do finger pick say umm, dust in the wind, or any chet?
oneGodGuitarist

I don't really do any formal type of finger picking like Chet but more of what I feel comes from within and trust me, it isn't to the caliber of you and Wink.   Mr. Green
ron wilson

you're modest!  but that's ok.  this should be incentive for me to do some  fingerpicking lessons on my web site.  if you ever make it out to southern california look me up and stay at my house and we'll guitar ourselves silly.
