Does anyone have any funny stories to tell on themselves about something that happened while playing guitar at church?

I'll name a few:
I was bent over adjusting the settings on my pedal and unknownst to me I had stepped on my cable and then I stood up and yanked the cable out of my guitar and it made a loud pop from my amp and the PA.
The other one was we were playing the song "Your Grace is Enough" and the drummer and I start the intro together. I started playing the intro and nothing no sound coming from my guitar. I look at the amp...its on.....volume is on at about 8 or so......then I notice my volume pedal is in the closed setting. So we had to start it over...that was embarassing.

Flat on My Face |
|
a few years ago i was on the front pew waiting to be introduced. The pastor introduced me and everyone was clapping. I hurried to the platform and tripped and fell over my whole system and landed flat on my face. The crowd started laughing......it was funny and the pastor felt embarrassed and
tried to make everyone stop laughing. I then had to crank up and roll on. I wasnt upset that everyone was laughing but i felt sorry for the pastor because he seemed to be more embarrassed than me.
The other funny one is when i pulled the neck off of one of my guitars at youth congress in front of 20000 young people. Thanks to Craig Gates for putting it back together!!!!!

i use a Shure wireless for my axe at church and for some reason it doesn't seat very well on my strap. well one Sunday morning during our praise & worship the Holy Ghost started moving like crazy and i was jumping all over the place and the stupid wireless transmitter slipped off my strap and came unplugged and landed on the floor. i felt pretty stupid and i felt my face getting red, then i thought about it........ this is the HOLY GHOST!!! so i kept worshipping.

Fixing a guitar neck at NAYC... |
|
Hey Wink, I had forgotten about that. We did it get back together, although I think you had to make a few later adjustments. I think you made it through the rest of the conference without any problems...
Wink, give me a call about rescheduling New Years Eve...

I JUST GOT OFF WORK AND RAN IN THE CHURCH ON A WEDNESDAY NIGHT SERVICE. MY CLOTHES WERE VERY VERY DIRTY AND I WAS VERY VERY TIRED. NO SOONER HAD I GOT IN THE CHURCH AND MY PASTOR ASKED ME TO PLAY A SPECIAL. WELL I LEARNED IN THE MILITARY HOW TO SLEEP STANDING UP, SO, I WAS SINGING THIS SONG WHILE STRUMMING MY GUITAR AND I CLOSED MY EYES TO WORSHIP WHILE I WAS SINGING WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT! I FELL ASLEEP STANDING UP. WHEN I AWOKE I WAS ALMOST TURNED COMPLETELY AWAY FROM THE MIC, AND EVERYONE REALIZED WHAT HAPPENED, AND I STILL HAVEN'T HEARD THE END OF IT, AND THAT WAS 20 YEARS AGO

Now that is impressive. I have seen guys sleeping in the chow line in the Army but never leading worship.
