So did anybody get any gear for Christmas (or in my case get money towards a gear purchase)?

It would have been nice to get something guitar related for Christmas but then I can't think of what I would want.

If you get the DD-7 give us a review. I am looking to get rid of my multi-fx unit in the future and go the single stompbox route and a DD-5 or DD-7 are on the top of the wish list.

MXR has come out with a delay box called the Carbon Copy Analog Delay. Sells for $150.00 @ GC.
I am hearing nothing but good about it. You may want to check it out.

I will look into that, the main reason I was going with DD7 or 5 is b/c of the external tap tempo feature which I find extremely useful.

Yeah, the MXR doesn't seem to have much in the way of bells & whistles....

well, I ended up buying another G3 dvd lol. Just can't get enough with the good ol' wacky Vai.
however, I do play with the DD7 every single time I go to guitar center, and i really like it. it's a very versatile delay pedal, with lots of cool things you can do. it has more time settings than the older delay, it has a reverse delay (it pretty much makes your guitar sound backwards when you play it) and my favorite feature of all..a build in looper. with the hold feature, you can play anything and loop it and even layer over and over again. it also has a tap tempo feature if you don't feel like bending over to change your delay speed. great pedal, some of the effects are a little unpractical for my playing, but i know some other guitarists who'd like to explore with weird things, and it's a bit expensive but since you get the loop pedal built in..it'd be worth it for me, personally.

The loop function would be practical for me since I'm the only electric guitarist at my church and could layer parts. Maybe find it on ebay used or amazon instead of paying 160 and some change.

Well, I finally made it to GC to buy my Christmas presents. I decided to get a speaker to upgrade my combo amp. I bought a Eminence - Cannibis Rex and some new pre-amp tubes. The old one's have been in there for about 5 yrs. now. I bought one for my Vox Tonelab SE also. Next thing is to get my #1 (strat) re-fretted. Been playing it for about 10 yrs. it's due.

I have a Peavey Ultra 112. If your not familiar, it's the predecessor to the Triple X series. 3 channel high gain. Late 90's.

how do you like the c rex in your amp? I am getting my amp modded by omega amps and everyone recommends putting a c rex in the amp i've got.
